Living in and around Vinaros

Vinaros is the most northern of the seaside towns of the Castellon province, only a couple of kilometres from the border with Tarragona / Catalonia.

It is a "real" town and not so much a resort, which means it is lively all year round and does not shut down in winter.

Vinaros offers all the amenities you would expect from a town this size (approx 25,000 inhabitants), including shops, banks, doctors and pharmacies, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, bars and clubs. But Vinaros also has lovely beaches in the centre of town along the seaside promenade and an excellent daily market where you can buy the locally caught fish and famous king prawns (which are not farmed!), plus tasty fruit and vegetables from the local fincas.

Development is low key and concentrated on the coastal stretches to the north and south of the centre.  Vinaros and its beaches are hardly ever packed, as there are few hotels and most of the holiday makers either own or rent one of the apartments or villas. The busiest periods in Vinaros are August and when the local fiestas take place. The most famous one is the Vinaros carnival, which is held every February and it is well worth a visit!

In Vinaros your choice of properties varies from apartments in the actual town to beach apartments, houses and villas in the urbanisations.
